Intent:

We want our children to be fascinated about the world and people in it. Our children should know about the diversity of places, people and natural and human environments. They should also understand physical and human processes of the planet Earth (e.g water cycle, volcanoes etc). 

Children will learn about the wider world and have ambitions to travel to the places studied. They will experience what it means to be a geographer and the associated skills.  

To ensure this knowledge is retained we have carefully planned what knowledge we want the children to learn and when we want them to learn it. The knowledge taught is progressive across the primary phase (in partnership with Widcombe Infant School) and it makes links and connections within and outside of the subject domain. 

We have chosen key geographical concepts to derive our chosen knowledge from.
