Year 3 Visit to Bath Abbey & Gaia
BackThis week our year 3 classes visited Bath Abbey to view Luke Jerram’s touring Gaia artwork. This awesome spectacle, a model of our planet, measures seven metres in diameter and is lit from within. Gaia features detailed NASA imagery of the Earth’s surface and provides the opportunity to see the world floating in three-dimensions. It's suspended underneath the tower in the centre of the Abbey, with an accompanying soundscape and lighting. It's safe to say the children were awestruck by this unique installation! The visit was part of our enrichment opportunities throughout the year and will help to inform future Geography work in class.
