Book Week Poetry Workshops and Poetry Grand Slam

Jonny Fluffypunk hosted our first ever Widcombe Junior School Poetry Slam during Book Week, it was an energetic and brilliant event! Jonny led performance poetry workshops throughout the school today -  covering warm ups, vocal and mic techniques, facial expressions, actions - and then the children worked in groups to rehearse their poems ready for a Poetry Slam at the end of the day!

Sixteen teams from across the school competed to be Champions, and congratulations go to The Gobsmackers! Wonderful performances, thank you everyone for taking part! And a big thank you to Jonny himself, you are a poetry-slammer King!
